Elina is the main protagonist in the Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia. She is a flower fairy who lives in Fairytopia, and she is voiced by Kelly Sheridan.
Elina was given a magical necklace to transformation into a mermaid, from a fairy; as she would need the strong tail to swim into dangerous waters in search of the merman prince. However, the spell would become permanent if she was not on dry land when the pearls in the necklace had all changed color.
Elina lost her chance for the spell to come undone, in order to keep a toxin from falling into the water; leaving her in despair, now she would have to leave behind all her friends and adjust to mermaid culture. However, she was given a magical berry that transformed whoever ate it into the form that was a reflection of their truest self. Elina ate it, transforming back into a fairy; with even more beautiful wings.
