The Little Mermaid,Mermaid Princess or Princess Mermaid is a character from the Japanese anime "World Fairytale Masterpieces" (or "Manga Sekai Mukashi Banashi" aka "Manga Fairy Tales of The World") [japanese: 世界童话名作选] 3rd episode titled "Mermaid Princess" (にんぎょ姫) in season 1. The episode was written by Sensaku Asakura and Directed by Mao Lamdao (大橋学) the film director of Twelve Months (十二の月) and The Prince of Happiness aka The Happy Prince (幸福の王子) released in 1976[1] by the Japanese company Dax International[2].
Biography[]
The mermaid princess is the youngest of six siblings and has reached the age of 15. She was now allowed to go to the surface, which she had waited for a long time. Once she reached the surface she saw a ship caught in a storm. She saved the prince who was on that ship, and dragged him to the shore. She hid when people saw him on the beach and was saddened that the prince though another girl had saved him. The mermaid princess went to an old mermaid who gave her a potion to turn into a human in exchange of her voice, and a warning that if the prince marries another she would turn to seafoam. The princess went to the prince and they were happy together, until the prince was ordered to visit another kingdom by his parents. There he met the girl he though saved him. The mermaid princess accepted her fate, even after her sisters gave up their long hair for a dagger that would allow the mermaid princess to turn back into mermaid if he killed the prince. The mermaid princess decided not to kill the prince and turned into sea foam on sunrise.
